You can never have too many cookie recipes. Add a different take on the classic sugar cookie recipe with this Walnut Sugar Cookie recipe. By adding nuts and chocolate chips for an over the top delicious cookie.

This walnut sugar cookie recipe is reminiscent of the dough from a classic chocolate chip cookie but with a nutty spin.

While most sugar cookies turn out hard and crisp, these are more tender, soft and chewy. When paired with chopped walnuts and chocolate chips or chunks, these cookies become super addictive.

I recently made them for family and friends in a fancy decorative pan (see image) and they disappeared very fast.

Steps

1

Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl.

2

Beat the sugar and butter with an electric mixer on medium-high speed in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add the vanilla and egg and beat to incorporate.

Add the flour mixture in 2 batches and beat on medium-low speed until incorporated.

4

Optional: Dust with powdered icing sugar.
